Thank you to our Interim Executive Director Elle Toussi 💪🏼

To our freelancer community —

Our previous Executive Director, Rafael Espinal, left big shoes to fill. We, the Freelancers Union Board, wanted to ensure the next Executive Director was up to the task, a process we knew would not be and could not be rushed. During the last few months, Elle Toussi, our Board Chair and long-time board member, stepped up to serve as Interim Executive Director. 

Elle worked tirelessly to ensure the organization was accountable and on course, making sure decisions didn't pile up, waiting for someone to make them. She provided the leadership and guidance needed to continue supporting you without interruption. 

Her steadiness is the reason we could run a careful, unhurried search rather than scramble to fill a gap. We took the time to get this decision right because Elle made sure we could afford to. 

Elle, thank you for your years of leadership, for stepping up when the organization needed it, and for the care you bring to this work every day. 

Later today, we'll announce your new Executive Director.
