Every freelancer should take this personally

Hi Peter,

With only 16 days left before the enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies expire, the Senate does not have a clear path forward for the future of our healthcare.

Whether or not you rely on the Affordable Care Act subsidies, every freelancer should take this personally. It is a direct attack on the ability of millions to afford healthcare, and it is an attack on the self-determination of freelancers to be their own boss and business.

We encourage you to contact your elected officials and let them know your vote in the 2026 midterm elections hinges on how they move forward on healthcare

More detail on how we got here is available in this blog post, and if you haven’t yet, fill out our survey to let us know your healthcare concerns. If you are still searching for a healthcare plan, check out the options available via our partners at Solo and Opolis. One may be right for you.

As a reminder — despite everything going on, you must select a plan by today, December 15, to have healthcare coverage come January 1.

These are challenging times, but it is vital we traverse them together.

In solidarity,

Peter Breitholtz

I operate a taxi and the business is called BLA Rides and it serves the Brainerd Lakes area and the rest of Minnesota. We transport clients throughout and we also deliver packages.
