MEET ANDREA GORDILLO AND HEAR HER VISION FOR THE FUTURE
To our freelancer community —
You may have seen the news that I’ve been named the new Executive Director of the Freelancers Union, but I wanted to take this time (and this newsletter) to properly introduce myself.
As the daughter of Peruvian immigrants, a lifelong organizer, and a proud New Yorker, I’m thrilled to be taking on this role. I've spent my career fighting for workers, artists, and communities too often left out of traditional systems. Freelancers are building businesses, creating culture, powering innovation, and reimagining what work can look like. We're not slowing down— the systems meant to support us need to catch up.
Learn more about me, as well as my vision for the Freelancers Union going forward, on our blog. I hope you'll join me and our team at FU for our Town Hall on August 11. I'd love to hear your questions, your ideas, and what you think the Freelancers Union should tackle next.
In solidarity,
Andrea Gordillo
